One of my favourite things about living in Adelaide’s southern suburbs is the access to many great parks and natural areas for walking and riding bikes. I’m glad that there has been effort put into keeping and maintaining areas for recreation rather than housing or commercial purposes, as it gives you space to enjoy the outdoors and fosters a really nice community feeling in those spaces.
One local park I visited for the first time the other weekend was O’Halloran Hill Recreation Park. Located about 30 minutes from Adelaide, 20 minutes from Noarlunga, the park is a haven for mountain bike riders, but the shared trails are also suitable for walkers (and their dogs).
The park has plenty of trails to explore, and offers great views over Seacliff beach and beyond, as well as into the hills. It’s important to remember, if you are walking the mountain bike trails, to follow the signs as instructed, as many trails are one-way, so you want to make sure you are going the same way as the bikes to avoid accidents.
